Compound Natural Medicine
Dry Needling
Today in most western cultures it is considered a "new alternative" medicine. In reality Dry Needling is a practiced medical treatments that are over 5,000 years old. Very basically, Dry Needling is the insertion of very fine needles, (sometimes in conjunction with electrical stimulus), on the body's surface, in order to influence physiological functioning of the body. In addition, a non-invasive method of massage therapy, called Acupressure, can also be effective.
It is said by its practitioners to be an effective form of preventive medicine because it helps detect and treat energy imbalances & improves pain relief.
Dry Needling points are small areas of the body where there exists a vortex of energy which when stimulated by needles, moxa or massage have been found to affect the balance and flow of energy in the body.

TCM Remedial Massage (Tuina)
TCM Remedial Massage is one of the oldest massage systems and is based on the principles of Traditional Medicine (TCM). In TCM, the free flow of energy or Qi throughout the body is considered to be vital in maintaining health and harmony. Blockages to the free flow of Qi results in pain & disease. During a TCM Remedial Massage treatment, Acupressure, Massage, Cupping, Moxibustion, Gua Sha or Traditional Herbal Liniments & Poultices can be used to stimulate and restore the flow of Qi to relieve pain and aid recovery. These techniques move stagnation & improve circulation to restore the balance of energy in the whole body thus allowing the body to heal itself naturally.

Acupressure
By applying pressure to distinct points on the body produced specific therapeutic effects and was also very effective in reducing muscular tension. This lead to the development of acupressure and its use in remedial massage. Pressure applied to these points encourages the free flow of Qi through their channels thus removing blockages, easing spasms & pain and allowing recovery.

Cupping
Cupping involves creating a vacuum in glass or rubber cups that are placed over an area of injury or stagnation. The cups may be left in place or drawn over the surface of the skin. The vacuum draws any stagnant Qi or blood to the surface, increases circulation, relaxes muscles, reduces pain and enhances recovery. If stagnant pathogenic factors are drawn to the surface, the skin may develop a reddish-purple colour which will fade over a few days.

Moxibustion
Moxibustion is a warming treatment where a herb similar to Mugwort is lit and applied close to the skin over a meridian, channel or injury. It has a deeply penetrating therapeutic effect and speeds recovery by promoting the flow of Qi & blood, dispersing stagnation that causes discomfort & pain, nourishing the body and dispersing cold or damp. Moxibustion warms and relaxes tight tissues, relieves pain and promotes healthy tissue repair.

Gua Sha
Gua Sha is an ancient therapeutic technique that involves scraping a smooth edged instrument across the skin over where an injury or imbalance resides. This draws out sha or red spots to the surface resulting in reducing inflammation, spasm and pain from superficial and deep levels of the body. Gua Sha is effective for treating tight & aching muscles, headaches and injuries.

Traditional Herbal Liniments
Traditional Herbal Liniments are used to massage or cover an injury to enhance the recovery of muscles, tendons and ligaments. They dissipate swelling and bruising and facilitate healing by promoting the flow of Qi & blood through the channels & tissues. This deep, penetrating healing reduces the chance of reoccurrence, pain or weakness later in life.
